ABOUT ME
Music is and always has been a huge part of my life. Growing up in a creative family of Art, Media and Music I have been lucky enough to have had support for what I love to do more than anything else. I discovered my passion for Music Technology in particular when I was around the age of 10, I found ‘Soundtrack’ on my Dad’s computer - a free and basic software programme that enabled me to compose and record my own song ideas. This amazed me in itself and I was immediately completely certain of my dream. I realise now that it’s rare to have such a strong sense of purpose at that age but it’s never left, in fact it’s an enthusiasm that has only ever grown in me.
At the age of 14, I entered an international song writing and music video competition online with my song/music video ‘Show Me What You Can Do’ (which can be viewed on my YouTube Channel) and got through to the final 6 where I was placed against real artists with fan bases. It was vote-based from there, so I campaigned at my school to collect support and eventually achieved 2nd place. Due to my keen involvement with music at my school I received an award at the end of my GCSE’s for contributions to the music department, and also achieved an A Grade in music.
After high school, I progressed to study Music Technology A Level at sixth form, which I devoted the majority of my study time to. I spent many of my free periods in the Music Technology suite and I achieved 100% of marks on the composition module. During sixth form, I also entered the ‘Chyme’ Young Composer of the Year Competition (2013) and won 1st place with my song Lone Star.
Still extremely driven to achieve my dream job of being a producer/song writer, I then went on to complete a Music Production (FdA) Degree at University Campus Suffolk, and after that went to Southampton Solent University to achieve a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music Production.
So what's next? I am currently developing my songs for live performance, and want to make sure it conveys the production in my music whilst also being visually entertaining. Watch this space!
